Cory Albertson has been awarded the 2026 Georgia Writers Association LGBTQIA+ Literary Success Grant for nonfiction. “Supporting queer writers right now is both risky and crucial,” Albertson said of the grant. “To be in community with such great Southern writers (and risk-takers) is a dream come true.” The grant is generously funded by the Hawthornden Foundation.
